Kappa Alpha Chapter

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Kappa Alpha Chapter was chartered on the campus of Western Carolina University on June 5, 1975.

 

Charter members are as followed:

Vickie Bethea, Brenda Daye, Freida Graham, Valerie Howell, Cynthia Long, Edieth Miller, Debbie Rembert, Frances Shade, Mamie Shamely,  Donna Smalley, Carol Vaughan,  Carolyn Whiteside

The chapter is sponsored by the graduate chapter of Gamma Gamma Omega located in Asheville, NC.  Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc.®  Kappa Alpha Chapter was the first National Pan-Hellenic Council organization chartered on the campus of Western Carolina University. The Kappa Alpha chapter is part of the Marvelous Mid-Atlantic Region, which is comprised of North Carolina and Virginia.
